I'm Still Learning!

It’s crazy how sometimes God can change your perspective in the most simplest of ways…last week in Pueblos for me was one of those moments. I was at my adopt-a-block site ready to get involved in my usual role of carrying the boxes of food off of the Dream Center bus. Most weeks I normally help other volunteers to get the food ready and help organize the food to give out to the community, but this week there were so many volunteers working on the site that I started to feel useless and just rele… Continue

Those Searching Around Us

I was told that today, we were “switching it up a little.” Once or twice a week, our usual routine is to go out with either the food truck, or the Under the Bridge ministry, where we get to pass out food and talk with people. But today was different. Today, we were gathering with a group from Hope for Homeless Youth, and visiting a college campus.

This Blessed Church

AMEN! I agree with the person below me! Like i wrote down on another blog, the reason i adore this church is because this is seriously the ONLY church that has opened my eyes to all the oppertunities God gives us just a way of serving Him, you know? I mean, HOW INCREDIBLE! This church might be the biggest church but yet this church offers the smallest challenges when you really think of it! Is it a killing-threat to lend a helping hand to others, i mean, SERIOUSLY!... IS IT??? I hope your anser… Continue

Dare to Love Completely

Have you ever walked by someone and felt like you should talk to them or like you should smile in their direction?
For no particular reason and you aren't sure why you get that sudden urge, you just all of a sudden feel like you need to?

I had this little wrapper with the words "Dare to love completely" on my desk the other day after eating a piece of chocolate and I haven't been able to stop thinking about those words. How often do we think we should help someone or do something but instead of… Continue

Redefining Homelessness

When we think of homelessness what comes to mind?

For so long my eyes have been half shut. Homelessness to me was a starving man living under a bridge. It was a family huddling over a fire in a trash can to stay warm. It was someone sleeping in a sleeping bag under an overhang to stay dry or someone holding a sign that says, “will work for food.”

But as our world, nation and economy are changing, I think it’s time we redefine “homeless.”

There are fam… Continue
