I was told that today, we were “switching it up a little.” Once or twice a week, our usual routine is to go out with either the food truck, or the Under the Bridge ministry, where we get to pass out food and talk with people. When we think of homelessness what comes to mind?


For so long my eyes have been half shut. Homelessness to me was a starving man living under a bridge. It was a family huddling over a fire in a trash can to stay warm. It was someone sleeping in a sleeping bag under an overhang to stay dry or someone holding a sign that says, “will work for food.”


But as our world, nation and economy are changing, I think it’s time we redefine “homeless.”
